The twin jet course starts with 3 weeks of ground school. After that, you’ll have 80 hours of combined simulator and real aircraft flying training, leading up to your single pilot Type Rating skills test.

Once you pass your Type Rating test, you’ll be qualified to proceed to the next phase: The Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) training.
6. Multi-Crew Cooperation Training
So far, all your flying training has been aimed at teaching you how to fly single-engine and twin jet aircraft as the ‘Pilot in Command’.
In this phase, you’ll need to learn how to interact in a multi-crew flight deck environment, enabling you to assume the two distinct roles of Pilot Flying (PF) and Pilot Monitoring (PM), covering separate responsibilities each.

You’ll partner with one of your colleagues as a flight crew pair in a multi-engine jet simulator, teaching you how to fly the aircraft in multi-crew mode.

This is your final phase of instruction at the Emirates Flight Training Academy. The Line Oriented Flight Training (LOFT) program is your opportunity to put all your training and experience into practice, with 14 hours of flying in a multi-engine in multi-crew mode.

You’ll operate the aircraft in both Pilot Flying (PF) and Pilot Monitoring (PM) roles.
This involves departures and approaches in European airspace, communication with Air Traffic Control and flying in extreme weather conditions.
Depending on the time of year you start LOFT, you may get to experience reduced visibility condition and cold weather operations, including ice and snow-contaminated runways.

Before you start
The Emirates Group makes it compulsory when working for them to relocate to their base in Dubai. You should make sure that you meet UAE visa requirements.

Step 2 – Next steps
The video interview, after it has been uploaded, will be scanned by a computer program (along with your CV) to check if it meets the basic requirements.

Receiving an invitation to the next stage, the Assessment Day, shows you are successful.
Most candidates on the assessment day will not be called back for a final interview because the Emirates process of selection is extremely hard. But even getting through to this stage is a big achievement.

Step 5 – Final Steps
Before your offer of employment can be finalized, there are some backgrounds and medical checks that the airline will need to make.
For the medical checks, you’ll be sent a form for your doctor to fill out and submit to recruitment along with a full medical report.
The standard is more severe than with some other airlines, as it has to meet the UAE working visa requirements too.
The background checks involve checking your past employment history and a criminal record check.
