TSA Job Assessment Test

The job assessment test is used as part of the selection process for some positions with the TSA. The test consists of three parts:

  • A written exam
  • An oral interview
  • A physical agility test

If you are selected for further consideration, you will be notified whether you passed or failed each section of the test.

How Long Does TSA Hiring Process Take?

You should hear back from the recruiter within 10 days of submitting your application.

You will receive a call informing you if you were successful in getting hired any time of the day.

Major Careers and Jobs Available at TSA

  1. Aviation Security Specialist

Description: Responsible for the security of airports and other air travel facilities.

Requirements: It is necessary you are able to receive a Secret Clearance. You should have a minimum of two years of related experience.

Salary Range: $36,926 – $48,865 per year.

2. Air Marshal

Description: Protects flights against terrorist attacks. They collaborate closely with the local law enforcement agencies.

Requirements: Must be able to meet the requirements of Federal Aviation Regulations. They must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

3. Airport Operations Manager

Salary range: $43,000 – $64,500 per year.

4. Airport Security Officer

Description: Guards the perimeter of an airport.

Requirements: Must possess a high school diploma or GED and be able to obtain a federal security guard license. They should have a clean record and no criminal history.

Salary range: $23.5920 – $35.360 hourly.

5. Cargo Screening Agent

Description: Inspects cargo containers entering the United States.

Requirements: A drug test and a background check are required.

Salary range: $25,600 – $31,785 hourly.
